Prissy Little Chloe - Puppy Action-Adventure Cartoon Novel

Live on Amazon! http://www.amazon.com/dp/B019VBUKQ2?ref_=pe_2427780_160035660 I've been typing away at my children's book series "Prissy Little Chloe" for the past year! WOW! Doesn't feel like it, I love my job. "Prissy Little Chloe: Time of the Year" is a short-chapter cartoon novel about my blonde Yorkie Chloe and all the trouble she gets herself into!  This book in the series centers on how I ended up with a rambunctious little troublemaker for Christmas, after four years of begging for a puppy and her evolution from nice to naughty over the course of a few d ays!  Chloe always wants to be the centre of attention; she makes up her own rules everyday - and gets herself into tons of trouble running through the neighborhood - setting me on a wild goose chase, every single day, without fail. She slips through the gate in the yard or runs through the door when she gets the chance and then runs across the street into peoples' backy

"Prissy Little Chloe" - Grab Your FREE Audiobook!

Hey guys, I've just recorded a free Audiobook of "Prissy Little Chloe: Time of the Year" - grab yours here! http://jaden28.wix.com/plcaudiobookfree It took me all and all about a month to pull this project together. I had to dig up all my journal entries, from when I first got my puppy; and to celebrate the Holiday season, I wrote a cartoon novel about my - and Chloe's - favorite time of the year and how I ended up with the little troublemaker I have now! Be on the lookout for "Prissy Little Chloe: Time of the Year" which will be available on the Amazon Kindle store in a few days!

Mic Placement for Podcasts/Audiobooks

15 years at the Mic I've been so busy these past few days narrating the two audiobooks of my book series "Prissy Little Chloe". I've loved recording into a mic since I was really little -- except today I'm going to show you the prope r way to self-record any vocals, podcasts or audiobooks. Equipment    For starters, I recommend a USB mic, no more than $100. The best type is a cardiod (heart-shaped input) condenser mic. These are much more sensitive than diaphragm (stage) mics, perfect for home recording -- in a quiet place! That's why treating the room with acoustic foam works great; but a quick and easy DIY hack is to use a blanket over your setup or record in a closet. If you can, record in a room with carpet. A great entry-level mic I highly recommend is the Samson Meteor, which retails for $80. It's a USB mic that's extremely portable, as it has it's own fold-able mic stand and sounds professional. Setup Put your mic up in th

Keep the Creative Flow

A tireless tip, for endless ideas anywhere! Yesterday I was at a Christmas party. While most adults were socializing, I had to get my books ready for their Amazon release. Last step -- my cartoon illustrations. I had everything I needed. My portable Mac Air, my Wacom tablet and dedication! Too bad I left my stylus in my other bag I was thinking of to bringing with me. See, never second-guess yourself. That left me in a rut. But what did I do - something else creative, that would make give my childlike drawings a steadier hand. Okay, that's probably a little dramatic, all I'm saying is that I wrote another book. Mind you "Prissy Little Chloe" is mostly a cartoon per-paragraph, while the other is full a cartoon novel. So I'm really only halfway done. But I wrote it! (I started it in February, so I really only wrote maybe ten pages.) But it's done! Lesson here, when you get frustrated enough you'll find something else to do. No, that

Star Wars

Can it live up to the hype? I've been a Star Wars fan since I was little. I had lego Star Wars playset and to be honest I completely forgot how much the franchise excited me, until I played Star Wars Battlefront. That game didn't get the highest Metacritic rating mind you, but it is incredibly fun. The movie came out today and I couldn't get tickets in time! They had a Marathon early this morning, for 10 hours -- all the Star Wars movies and the new one playing! This is the one time it's crucial, to pre-order. Notice how every commercial has been Star Wars lately? I bit and added a little Star Wars intro to my book trailer:  Prissy Little Chloe - This Holiday Star Trek or Battlestar Galactica hardly gets this much media attention. I'm impressed -- Star Wars has been going strong for almost 40 years. I heard there's a new Star Trek Beyond movie coming out though -- I'm anxious to see if these new movies can really bring bac

Instantly Improve the Way You Sound

Voice accounts for 38% of how you're perceived    You could say "I don't care what people think about me", which you shouldn't. But thinking and perceiving are different altogether. When people perceive you, right or wrong they're making subconscious - that they may not be aware of - judgements about you. Their mind sputters out all these arbitrary questions like: "Is he employed?", "Is she married?", "Does she have kids", "How much money does he make?" They don't have to make much sense, "What did he have for breakfast earlier?"or "Did she drive in to work today?". They all happen on and off, really fast. Body language, physical appearance and choice of words are one thing - but none of them affect the reception of conversation like the voice does. Mr. Monotony no melody   I'm not talking about an artificially bassy or sultry voice, but you're own voice - not use

3 Second Steps to Taking a Better Picture

No need for editing - get picture-perfect photos with these three hacks!  Ever miss the moment by just so little that when you go back to take a look at the blurry photographs later, you can hardly tell what they were even supposed to be? I can tell you it's terribly annoying; and the quick fix isn't to just take a course to become a better photographer. That could take months and what good is it if you're taking a picture with your  smartphone - no tripods here and laughing hysterically throughout? That's exactly where these three tips come in. Starting with DSLRs With the advent of camera phones, now called "smartphones" - everyone has access to a pocket camera, that can take studio-quality photos. I've always loved taking pictures - namely of my dog. Back when there weren't any phones with build-in cameras, I asked for a camera for my birthday. I got a grey, used camera, with no film - my mom wanted me to "practice" wit

Book Status - Publishing Pending

The Troublemaking Terrier Hey guys! I have been hammering away at writing my book series "Prissy Little Chloe" these past few weeks, well months - actually technically years, because they're based on my journal entries from when I was six. Anyway, I have two books I'm releasing this weekend "Prissy Little Chloe" original and "Prissy Little Chloe: Time of the Year". The series are funny little cartoon novels about my blonde Yorkie Chloe and all the trouble she gets herself into! Chloe always wants to be the centre of attention; she makes up her own rules everyday - gets herself into tons of trouble running through the neighborhood - setting me on wild goose chase, every single day, without fail. She slips through the gate in the yard or runs through the door when she gets the chance and then runs across the street into peoples' backyard, homes ... or into their car. This book in the series - Prissy Little Chloe: Time of the Ye

3 Simple Steps to Canvas Painting

At least it won't take you 15 years to figure this out these paint hacks!  You don't have to be an art natural to adopt these quick and easy tricks into your next work of art! Whether you've been painting for 15 years or 5 minutes, follow these three steps to make your next piece pop: Step 1 - the outline The most fundamental aspect to giving the painting 99% more structure, by planning it out with light pencil shapes. Many abstract or impressionist art will often skip this step - but it is simply needed for any still-life, landscape or portrait paintings.  It's a little difficult to do this with watercolour paintings without having lead bleed through, in which case I recommend using a blue pencil (which you can find at an arts/crafts store - alternatively, a light blue pencil will do the trick.) With a pencil, sketch (not too dark you can't erase, but not too light you can't see it) the outer lines of the big parts of your subject(s),

Tree Wars - Fake Pine or Real?

With better looking fake tress can you tell the difference? Still hoping I'm not the only one now deciding on this. For those of us late in the game deciding whether to buy a real tree - the good ones are probably all gone already. Where were you, seriously? They've been out since late October. If you're still here, the great Holiday debate remains to be the big "Should I buy a tree this year?" I for one love the smell - except when you leave it an extra month after Christmas and it starts to smell like putrid egg water. Other than that, they're obviously beautiful! Except when they poke you in the eye when you reach down low to get your gift (that looks like Santa really didn't want you to have, as it's pushed strangely near the egg water.) It becomes more of a problem when pine needles fall every four seconds, which gets worse if you leave it for three months like I do and they really become desiccated rotten egg-leaves.

Setting Goals - Ask Yourself These Few Questions

“All progress depends on the unreasonable man[/woman]." (Tweet me) - George Bernard Shaw  Alright I don't have my tweetable quotes links up and running yet, must be because I don't have a Twitter account, (yet.) So, you're going to have to old-fashioned copy and paste for now! Going back to the quote, "unreasonable" doesn't mean criminal or crazy, just not acquiescent - don't blindly follow anyone or anything, question until you fully understand. Then bend the rules a bit! That's what creativity is. Here's an example (and actually one of my favorite marketing campaigns) "Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them - because they change

iPhone VS Android - Quick Review

This  or that? I used iOS 5 years before I got an android. It was a gift, actually - a Galaxy Note 3 that I've had for two years. I had an iPhone 5 before (I don't know where it is now) and loved it. iMessage, FaceTime, the camera, the display, all my apps and games - even unlocking the phone was fun (I'm lonely okay?) I never thought I could part from Apple's platform - then I got an Android for Christmas. I didn't ask for one, but my dad got the same phone and thoughtfully decided to get me one too. So, I've been stuck with it for two years - and I never thought I'd say this, but it's perfect for me! The stylus mostly. I'm an artist, so being able to write and sketch ideas on the go is amazing ; it's like a modern day Palm Pilot. I have (almost) the same apps as my iPhone (sans GTA III, Mass Effect Infiltrator and all my zombies games, unfortunately.) But which do I like better and who should go with what? I think
