10 Best Boss Battles of the God of War Trilogy
Hades
Colossus of Rhodes
Poseidon
In God of War III, when Kratos climbs up to Mount Olympus on the titan Gaia, he has another force to contend with. Kratos battles against the water steeds of the god Poseidon on the surface of Gaia’s body. Frustrated she weakens Poseidon and pulls him off of her, inadvertently assisting Kratos and paving the way for him to deliver a critical blow to the water god -- knocking him back to his original form. Kratos is now at a face off with Poseidon’s human version, whom he kills by gruesomely gouging out his eyes and snapping his neck.
Cronos
Arguably the greatest boss fight in God of War’s history. Cronos, a titan from God of War III, is who Kratos goes up against; and just like Gaia, Kratos attacks him by climbing up his body -- the sheer scale of which dwarfs the 8-foot tall Kratos, who must rely on his Blades of Chaos and ultimate power as the God of War.
Cronos can blow a gust of wind, knocking Kratos off of himself and repeatedly throws the force of his henchman at the player. Kratos must cut off parts of Cronos’ body, starting with tearing off his fingernail. When Kratos is eventually being swallowed by the beast, he takes his blade and cuts open Cronos’ heart from the inside out.
